Skirting boards

Skirting boards

Achieving the position of leader in the production of wooden layered floors in the Polish market, Barlinek SA declares the same objective in the skirting board sector. It is supported in this objective by the very dispersed competition in this product range area. An additional advantage for the Company is the location of all production and wood processing in one place. Economic use of raw materials, which in significant quantities are purchased for the requirements of flooring, veneer and now skirting boards, contributes to the optimising of production costs of the Barlinek product range. The fact of producing one’s own veneer enables the maintenance of total quality control in the production of skirting boards. The actual range extends to almost 100 types of skirting board produced from wood of coniferous timber, in various heights and widths, covered with veneer of the wood of 20 species of Polish and exotic trees (including beech, oak, ash, maple, alder, hornbeam, birch, walnut and shapelier mahogany). Barlinek production plans for 2008 for the skirting board range amount to 2.2 mln linear metres, of which about 70% shall be sold abroad. The main sales markets correspond with the countries of customers for Barlinek floorboards. Among these countries are: the Scandinavian countries, Germany, Russia, and also the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine. The wooden accessories line at Barlinek is the first, but not the final investment of the Company in this area. With regard to the same distribution channels for floor planks and skirting boards, the possessed technology and raw materials, it is planned to develop production for the countries with the largest demand. Therefore in another year the building is being considered of a similar plant in Russia, which shall produce for the requirements of the Russian, Ukrainian and Romanian markets.

Pellet

Pelet

The dramatically increasing price of crude oil, diminishing resources of coal and the limitation of emissions of CO2 have the effect that demand for bio-fuel increases. Biomass has been recognized as the energy hit in the highly developed countries, such as Sweden, Denmark, Germany or Austria.

The scale of production and the dynamic of growth of Barlinek have caused it to become within a few years the largest producer of pellets in Europe, in offering the highest quality of product, fulfilling EU standards.

Pellets are produced from sawdust created by production of Barlinek floorboards. Cheap, high energy, easily transported, stored and used, constitutes a serious competitor to traditional coal or fuel oils. Consumers of pellet granules also include large electric power concerns as well as individual customers.

In 2007 Barlinek began the construction of the third pellet production establishment in Poland. Similar investment is underway also in Ukraine and in Romania.

EcoBriketts

EcoBriketts

are a source of renewable energy, unlike wood it burns up almost completely - the amount of ash left is a mere 0.5% of the weight of the briquettes burnt. This ash can be used as an ecological fertiliser for plants, as it contains just the wood's mineral components.
This fuel is safe for the natural environment, since when it burns only trace amounts of sulphur oxides and nitrogen are produced, which protects both the natural environment and also the chimney and roof covering. Its high compression means it takes up much less space than firewood.
