Barlinek - Socially Responsible

Barlinek S.A. has confirmed that it maintains the highest standards of social responsibility. On 25 January Warsaw Stock Exchange announced the latest Respect Index placings, in which Barlinek is once more one of the 16 companies which meet the highly demanding criteria in the fields of management, informational order, investor relations, business ethics and care for ecology.

The Respect Index began on the WSE in October 2009. It is a unique project by the Stock Exchange which aims to promote responsible management in public companies. Barlinek S.A. was among the 16 companies which made it on to that index. The company ranking was made on the basis of a survey covering both the areas of sustainable development, corporate governance, management and communication with various interest groups. The companies' social responsibility was also verified by an audit conducted by the Stock Exchange, the Polish Association of Listed Companies and Deloitte.

"The Barlinek Group has been implementing a strategy based on the principle of sustainable development and responsible business. We operate ecological projects, we use modern technology during the production process, which allows us to decrease the impact on the natural environment and we cooperate actively with local communities. We are proud that Barlinek is once again present in the Respect Index, as this also demonstrates such aspects of the company's functioning as ethics, corporate governance and management. This makes it a fairly universal assessment of the company," says Paweł Wrona, Chairman of Barlinek S.A.'s Management Board.
